Fair Tax Mark on 2014 New Radicals list

The Fair Tax Mark is delighted to announce that it has been included on the 2014 New Radicals list, compiled by Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation and The Observer. The list details 50 people or projects that are helping to change Britain for the better chosen out of over a thousand applicants.

Richard Livings, Project Manager at The Fair Tax Mark said “Our inclusion on this list of the top people, projects and organisations each that are offering innovative ways to tackle social challenges is a recognition of the unique approach of The Fair Tax Mark. It is thanks to the support of our shareholders, supporters and pioneering companies that we have managed such a level of recognition within just six months after our launch.”

The Fair Tax Mark works to end the damage caused by companies that choose to exploit loopholes in the law and to avoid paying tax in the UK and elsewhere. By rewarding companies that pay the right tax, in the right place and at the right time, and that are open about doing so, the Mark provides them with an independent way to publicly declare their commitment to being transparent and fair with their tax affairs.

John Mulholland, Editor of The Observer, said: “It’s a thrilling list – here are people or groups of people who are organising, collaborating and active in a way that helps transform lives and communities. It’s an antidote to apathy and cynicism – this is about activism. The ways in which these people act has the effect of materially changing the lives of Britons for the better. I think the message is clear – if at all possible, do something. It’s almost always better than doing nothing.”
