Fair Tax Week 2022 dates and sponsors announced

Fair Tax Week 2022 will run from 11th – 19th June, incorporating Tax Justice Sunday on 12th June. Fair Tax Week 2022 will be sponsored by Pennon Group and Leeds Building Society.

Fair Tax Week is a UK-wide recognition of the companies and organisations that are proud to promote responsible tax conduct. Championing a level playing field for businesses, the Week will highlight events and webinars through the Fair Tax Week webpage and Fair Tax Foundation social media channels.

The Week will also explore how corporation tax is an important source of revenue for public services and how localities and individuals can play their part too, contributing to a fairer economy for all.

Fair Tax Week 2022 arrives at an opportune moment as the progression of the Economic Crime Bill, long awaited reforms to company registration from Companies House and the UK developing its version of a global minimum tax rate continue to be firmed up.

“Fair Tax Week 2022 is all about celebrating the responsible UK businesses that are doing the right thing when it comes to tax. Corporation tax is so important when considered against the huge array of public services it helps fund – from education, health and social care, to flood defence, roads and policing.”

“As the UK seeks to crack down further on those dodging tax, the Week is a perfect opportunity for the brilliant businesses that are proud of their contribution to come forward and say what they pay with pride.”

“We’re thrilled that Pennon Group and Leeds Building Society, both Fair Tax Mark accredited businesses, are sponsoring Fair Tax Week 2022.”

Susan Davy, Chief Executive Officer, Pennon Group, said:

“Businesses, such as ours, have an important role to play in helping to fund vital community services by ensuring we pay the right amount of tax, in the right way and at the right time.”

Richard Fearon, Chief Executive Officer, Leeds Building Society, said:

“As a mutual, we’re committed to doing what’s right for our members and colleagues and the communities in which we operate. Paying our fair share of tax is one of the principal ways we contribute to society, helping to fund the public services we all rely on.

“We were the first national high street financial services provider to receive the Fair Tax Mark and transparency around our tax affairs is very important to us and our members. Leeds Building Society is committed to paying our fair share and through our support for Fair Tax Week we want to share our approach to tax with other responsible businesses.”
